Overview

David, un joven norteamericano, vive en París entregado al día a día. Hella, su novia, viaja a España para darse tiempo y reflexionar sobre qué rumbo darle a su vida. Durante su ausencia, en una noche de juerga en un bar decadente, David conoce a Giovanni, un mozo italiano que le causa una instantánea atracción. Se entregan con pasión a un amor sin culpas pero sobre el cual pesa una doble condena: la de ser confinado al espacio de la habitación de Giovanni; y la de su fecha de término, que es también el retorno de Hella y el inicio de la temporada en el infierno que comienza para Giovanni y que concluye con un desenlace dramático. Como anécdota: para crear un personaje Baldwin se basó en Elliot Stein, en cuya habitación en un hotel de París se basó Susan Sontag para "Notas sobre lo camp".
